April 1, 2015, UFA (United Farmers of Alberta) hired a new President & CEO.  One year later Carol Kitchen is still going strong in the position and helping to grow UFA as a company and what she says is to support their members and in-turn Agriculture in our province.

Jody Seeley and Carol Kitchen

To be honest, when I first learned that a woman held this position I was eager to meet her and see what she's been working on.  I am always thrilled to learn more about incredible women in our world who are taking on great tasks.  I think it's fair to say the Agriculture industry has been a male-driven one for several years.  But spending the morning with this dynamic woman was nothing less than awesome.  It sounds like she is taking on this position with pride and a fresh outlook.  I obviously haven't worked directly with her but I found her time on the morning show really fun.  And I look forward to how this company can help our agriculture industry and even get more women involved.

Here is our chat from the show.  We learn about Carol's background, what she's been seeing around the province and how UFA is helping their store, employees and the community of Fort McMurray.

Don't forget Farmer's Day on June 10, 2016!
