The heat wave continues in Southern Alberta.

A sweltering forecast of 37 is expected for Thursday before things cool down heading into the weekend.

Until then, Foothills residents will be looking for ways to cool down.

Okotoks and High River have a few options, with the most popular likely to be their spray parks.

In Okotoks, the spray park is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., whereas High River’s operates from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Both towns also offer drop-in recreation activities that could provide respite from the heat.

High River’s Rec Plex has a public air-conditioned walking track and offers drop-in swimming sessions.

Just in time for one of the hottest days of the year, they’re also bringing back drop-in ice skating on Thursday.

Okotoks also has drop-in swimming and walking track access as well as leisure ice time.

Both Okotoks and High River have websites for their drop-in recreation schedules.
