A young Okotoks resident has recently lost the battle with a rare form of brain cancer.

Young Harlow Farewell was six days shy of her fourth birthday when she passed away on February 8th.

She had been battling choroid plexus carcinoma, which causes too much cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, and is most common in children under the age of two.

Last December and January, Pho Hoai and Complete Health Chiropractic in Okotoks were raising money for the Farewell family while Harlow was in hospice care.

"In her short life, Harlow lived and shared love. She was brave, loving, smart, fierce, head strong and made an impact on everyone she met. Sparkling eyes and an infectious smile that made you feel as if you were the only person in the world that mattered. She was too young to go and our hearts are feeling broken," read Harlow's obituary. "There is comfort knowing her older brother, Brennex, met her on the other side."

The Farewell family wishes to thank everyone who was there for the family during this difficult time.

Harlow's Celebration of Life will take place at the Flare and Derrick in Turner Valley at 11 a.m. on March 2nd, and everyone is welcome to attend.

There will be snacks and coffee following a short program.

If you wish to send the family some flowers, there is an option to do so on the Snodgrass Funeral Homes website.
