A handful of High River Flyers players and new Head Coach Colten Hayes got together for a meet and greet mini-camp last week in Calgary.

Hayes says he's had to hit the ground running since being hired as the team's new Head Coach back in June.

"Recruitment was a little hard at first, but I've got a lot of resources in B.C., my best friend coaches the Campbell River Storm. He's kind of really been helping me with recruiting, so we've got a couple of B.C. kids coming to play for us this year."

Hayes says the focus is still on trying to find locals to fill the roster.

The Flyers hold their training camp from Monday, August 27 to Thursday, August 30, before playing a couple of pre-season games Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8 against the Okotoks Bisons.
