Despite the smoke in Southern Alberta over the weekend, it cleared out just in time for the 15th Annual Bar-U Ranch Rodeo.

Ranch teams from across Alberta competed in a variety of events including team branding, team doctoring, cow milking, and others.

Rodeo Chair, Marian Anton, says one thing really stood out.

"I think the biggest crowd pleaser of the day was the fact we have 12 teams entered every year, and this year we had two teams that were all girls. And the crowd just loves to watch the all-girl teams and we're so glad to get them to come out."

The cowboys from Grizzly Springs ranch in Waterton won first place for the second year in a row.
