The Alberta Motor Association is reminding drivers that an emergency with your vehicle can happen anytime and anywhere.
In Winter when the temperatures drop like this week, everyone should have a well stocked emergency kit in their vehicle.
A basic kit should include a shovel, candles, waterproof matches, booster cables, a flashlight, work gloves, warm winter clothes and a blanket.
If you'd like a more comprehensive kit, add an ice scraper, sand, a fire extinguisher, a multi-tool, a tin can, paper towels, a map, a jug of water, non-perishable food, and a caution pylon.
Most importantly carry a charged cell phone so you can call for help.
