The Nanton Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual general meeting on February 13th and had some new executive members elected.

Former co-president Pam Woodall was elected back to her position.

She says the new executive will be getting to work on a plan to best market the events the Chamber and the Town will be hosting this year.

"We can now get together now as a new chamber with some new members and just see what our priorities will be," said Woodall. "As usual we will be working on generally marketing Nanton and its businesses and attractions as a whole."

The Chamber plays a bigger role in marketing the town after the communications/marketing position was eliminated by the Town.

"Now that we don't actually have a communications and marketing person in the town office anymore, that has been eliminated for the moment, the Chamber has been picking more of the actual work on that with the Town kicking in a little more money just to make up for the fact that the chamber is doing that work."

Wayfinding signage, tourist promotions and a couple large community event are also on the to-do list for 2019.

The Chamber Executive includes:

Co-president Pam Woodall - Because I Said So

Co-president Laurie Henthorne of Stuthornes on Main.

Secretary: Dayna Dickens, Brisket Case

Treasurer: Jill Lyon, ATB

Directors:

Dana Zielke, Bomber Command Museum;
Pauline Higgins, Candy Store;
Lori Stuart, Stuthornes on Main;
Lorraine Hjalte, Lorraine Hjalte Visual Communications;
Roland Schmidt-Bellach, Changing Seasons B&B;
Brooke Sandberg, Chinook Financial Credit Union

The Chamber can still appoint two more directors if anyone is interested - contact Woodall or Henthorne if you want more information.
