Nanton town council will be looking at how the community should continue to grow in the near future at a strategic planning session on February 26th and 27th.

Mayor Jennifer Handley says they are busy gathering information from residents for the session which will help them build a road map to the next four years.

"This is where any ideas any feedback we are getting from our community, our business groups, our service groups," said Handley. "Anything we have been able to gather over the last few months we will be able to put it all on the table and make a tangible plan for us for the next four years."

One area they will be working on includes plans for population growth, which has been steady.

"The new council will be absolutely looking at what the next phase of Westview will look like," said Handley. "How we are going to develop it or if we are going to bring in a developer to manage that."

Handley says there is an community engagement session coming up on January 28th so council can get some feedback from the community before the strategic planning session.
