The Town of Nanton is having some issues with their recycling centre.

Mayor Jennifer Handley says it's costing them a lot of money to make sure they have enough staff on hand to handle the high volume of grass and tree clippings they're seeing this summer.

"And we need to get control of it. It's costing us way more in manpower and taxpayer dollars. So they're (administration) looking at adjusting the hours of the recycling centre to start with, while they really look at what services we should be providing."

Handley says the biggest problem is people not removing grass clippings from plastic bags, putting entire trees into the mulch pile, and as always people simple dumping garbage.
