Thanksgiving is over but that doesn't mean the need to help out the High River Food Bank goes away.

Lieutenant Kelly Fifield with the Salvation Army in High River says they see a pretty steady number of families come to them for help.

"Every family can come access the food bank every 30 days if need be, and so our average, we're helping around a 100 families or just a little more every month in our community," she says.

She says they're already thinking and working towards the holiday season.

"We like to think that Christmas is still a few months away but the reality is that we're already thinking and planning for Christmas so normally the food drives that happen this time of year last us until about Christmas," Lt. Fifield says.

Food can be dropped off at Sobey's, No Frills and Co-op in High River.
