The High River District Health Care Foundation's Big Screen Harvest Party was a big success.

Fund development officer, Cathy Couey, says they made lots of cash for the foundation's work.

"Our auction netted over $11,000, the lucky winner of the 50/50 took home $6,060, and thanks to our outstanding sponsors, the donors, both financial and with the incredible line-up of auction items and the people who purchased tickets, we were able to raise $43,000," Couey says.

That's down a bit from last year although Couey says the people she's spoken to in the business concerts everywhere have been struggling to sell tickets and expenses have risen for the foundation.

A return to the Annual Dinner and Auction could be in the offing.

"We have absolutely loved the opportunity to host the drive-in and have the ability to fundraise and to engage with people in our community, but our hope is to eventually, next year, go back to the memorial centre and our typical Annual Dinner and Auction, whether that means we might offer something in the spring, or a concert, we need to look at all those details but we do look forward to getting back to our Annual Dinner and Auction."

Money raised will be handed over to support Our Greatest Needs for programs and equipment where it's needed the most.
