It seems like the eyes of the world are focused on the new television series The Last of Us.

The premiere episode 'When You're Lost in the Darkness' debuts this Sunday, January 15 on HBO, HBO Max, and also streamed through Crave in Canada.

The highly anticipated series was filmed throughout Alberta from July 2021 to June 2022.

The Foothills of Southern Alberta are no strangers to filming either television shows like Heartland or movies like Let Him Go but this latest production blanketed the province.

During the year-long shoot, they set up in not only High River and Okotoks but also Edmonton at the legislature, in Olds, Canmore and Fort Macleod.

Calgary was one of the busiest locations as they filmed on the SAIT and Mount Royal University campuses and close to the Calgary Stampede grounds. And they also shot some scenes at Lord Shawnessy High School and the Northland Village mall in Calgary.
