The Okotoks Dawgs were in Sylvan Lake tonight (June 8) and stayed undefeated against the Gulls winning 3-1.

The Dawgs extended their season series lead 3-0 against the Gulls with some great pitching and a late two-run home run from Lou Anderson.

Garrett Maloney started on the mound for the Dawgs going a full six innings and punching out the Gulls eight times with strikeouts. Maloney would only allow one run from the Gulls to cross home plate.

The game would go scoreless until the top of the fourth. Tucker Zdunich would get the first RBI of the game when Logan Grant stole second base and then was able to advance to third on an error made by the Gulls catcher. Zdunich then hit a single to advance Grant across home plate.

Gavin Roy got the Gulls on the board tying the game 1-1 after he successfully crossed home plate giving Sylvan Lake their first point on the night.

Dawgs answered at the top of the seventh with a home run from Anderson who scored Nash Crowell in for the extra run giving the Dawgs the 3-1 win as the Gulls never answered back.

Okotoks will be at Seaman Stadium tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch at 2:05. The Lethbridge Bulls will be in town for the game and are coming off a win against the Dawgs last night and a 1-0 win over Brooks tonight.
