High River set a record this week but most of us would have been happy if it hadn't.

According to Environment Canada, more than a dozen temperature records in Alberta were broken or tied for minimum temperature records on Tuesday morning.

In the High River Area, the new record is -25.5º C, breaking the old mark of -22.8º C set back in 1924.

Thankfully the weather's supposed to improve Friday and through the weekend.

Records have been kept in the region since 1913.
