Last night the Okotoks Bison's took on the Mountainview Colts in an intense and rough game at the Murray Arena. The Bison's came out scoring the first goal 1:59min into the first period. From there the Colts kept tieing up the game until the end of the second, when the Bison's made the score 5-3 and were able to keep it that way through out the third period. New comer to the Bison's, Michael Janz, says the team learned from their loss to the Colts last weekend.

"The key is we play as a team we all had each others back, and we knew what we needed to do. We needed to make hard plays and guard our net and we made it successful."

Janz has only been on the team for 2 weeks and scored his first goal last night against the Colts. Janz had a different emotion for that first goal than most players have.

"Relief, Luke Loomer was in front of the net and he got the puck, with a back hand off the goalie, I took the rebound with an open net and I just felt relief when it went in. Got the first one out of the way." Janz says.

While last night was a win for the Bison's, the game itself was one of the rougher ones the Bison's have had this season. With 9 roughing penalties and 4 game misconducts being given out the rough game did not seem to phase the Bison's. In fact, according to assistant captain Mark McLeod it helped the Bison's.

McLeod says "It was good to see everyone come together and stick up for each other. Even though it was a physical game it was good to see the guys step up."

The Bison's next game is Sunday, November 10th at the Murray Arena.
