The Brooks Bandits won their third consecutive AJHL Championship on Friday night in front of a sold-out hometown crowd.

The Bandits and Spruce Grove Saints battled it out in overtime for the second consecutive game with the Bandits winning 3-2. 

Brendan Poshak netted the OT winner on an assist by Dominick Campione.

The Bandits have now hoisted the AJHL championship cup seven times.

Bandits' goaltender Ethan Barwick was named the AJHL Playoff MVP.

The Bandits and Okotoks Oilers met up in the second round of the playoffs after the Bandits had a bye in the first round.

The Oilers managed to take the Bandits all the way to game six before being eliminated in the South Division Semi-Final. 

Brooks now moves on to defend their Centennial Cup title as they won the coveted Junior A hockey Championships.

They run from May 11-21 at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.
