Former Flames and Hitmen enter the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame

Jarome Iginla, Dave King, and Kelly Kisio are being inducted into the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame in Red Deer. 

They join Craig McTavish, Billy Dea, Shannon Szabados, and the 2000-2001 Red Deer Rebels.

Jarome Iginla, a Calgary Flames fan favourite to this day, played 1554 games in the NHL, with 1219 of those games while he wore the flaming "C". He would pop in 625 goals in his career while in the NHL. With Calgary, he potted two 50-plus goal seasons, winning the Rocket Richard Trophy for most goals in a season twice. In 81 playoff games "Iggy" would claim a total of 68 points, 37 of which were goals.

Dave King, a former coach for the Calgary Flames from the 1992-1993 season to 1994-1995, coached the Flames to a 109-76-31 record during his time. Before coaching the Flames, King spent nine years with the Canadian National team. After his time in Calgary, he was an assistant coach with the Montreal Canadiens and head coach the Columbus Blue Jackets for nearly three seasons during the start of their franchise.

Kelly Kisio, former player for the Calgary Flames and the WHL Calgary Wranglers, as well as a head coach for the Calgary Hitmen for four seasons dating back to the 2004-2005 season, has earned his way into the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame. Kisio played 761 games in the NHL and helped light the lamp 658 times in his career with 229 goals and 429 assists. During his time coaching the Hitmen, he would coach the team to a terrific 167-87-25 record, reaching the third round in playoffs twice. 

The induction ceremony will be held at the Gary W. Harris Centre at Red Deer Polytechnic on July 20.
