Operation Christmas Child is underway again.

It's time for Operation Christmas Child and you have until next Saturday to get your gift together for kids in need around the world.

Katherine MacKenzie with Foothills Regional Emergency Medical Services which will parade ambulances filled with the shoe boxes through downtown Calgary on November 18th, says they're looking for non-perishables.  "Small toys, school supplies, personal hygiene items, they can have small, wrapped hard candies, anything that won't melt," she said.  "Anything like that you can find that would brighten a child's life.  A lot of these kids have nothing." MacKenzie asks you leave out war toys, like guns, as many of the kids see enough of the real thing.

Local drop-off sites include schools like Dr. Morris Gibson, Big Rock, Strathcona Tweedsmuir, Sheep River, Cameron Crossing, Millarville School, A. B. Daley, and J. T. Foster; Okotoks and High River fire stations; the F.R.E.M.S. Administration Office in High River; the High River Alliance Church; and any Canada Safeway.
