High River's Jason Glass is already making his presence known at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship.

He took the number one spot on day one of the second event of this WPCA Pro Tour on Thursday night.

Unhindered by penalties, Glass posted a time of 1:16.47, putting 1.53 seconds between himself and Tuff Dreger in second place.

Other Foothills locals, Dayton Sutherland and Jordie Fike, finished day one at 17th and 31st, respectively.

Jamie Laboucane, who claimed the Grande Prairie Stompede Championship title last weekend, sits at number eight.

Glass and Laboucane are in heat 10 along with Chad Fike and Layne MacGillivray heading into day two.

The Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship continues tonight through to Sunday night, with the champion set to walk away with $22,000.
