The Town of High River is hosting multiple free events during this year's Canada Day celebrations and wants to honour the country with you.

Heather Ross, Special Events Co-Ordinator explains what people who live or will visit High River on Canada Day can expect.

"We have got a filled day from 10:00 till 2:00 at George Lane Park, then we will have our traditional Emerson Lake fireworks glow party dance," Ross said.

"Emerson Lake we are going to shut down the roads at about 7:30-8:00 or so that way we can setup. We are going to have the party from 9:00 to 11:00, fireworks should take place at about 10:45 pm at dusk."

Ross encourages everyone who is attending the glow party to be dressed up in neon and to have their glow sticks, necklaces and swords ready for the party. She also explained that during the George Lane Park festivities, the Okotoks Dawgs will be there to take photos and sign autographs.

For those who want to fill their stomachs, food trucks will be made available at both George Lane Park and Emerson Lake.

"Right now, we have three confirmed food trucks (for Emerson Lake), I'm just working on a couple others. There will be more than enough snacks to keep everybody happy," she said.

"We have five confirmed food trucks at George Lane Park, the Lions are going to do their beef on a bun again which is really exciting."
