The Okotoks Oilers got under the Bandits' skin in game two of their seven-game series, splitting the series 1-1 after winning 5-2 in Brooks on Saturday night (April 20).

Brett Huxley would get two goals in the contest, with team captain Dean Spak getting another game-winning goal in this year's BCHL playoffs for the Green and Gold.

Christian Green wouldn't let a goal past him until the second period, he hadn't let a goal in since the previous game's second period. Green would stop every shot he faced in over a 63-minute time span in back-to-back games.

The first period would see Huxley score his first of the post-season doing his best impression of two-time Stanley Cup winner Peter Forsberg, skating around the Bandits zone and sniping one short side to give the Oilers their first lead of the series.

Jackson Rowland would add to the Oilers lead late in the first, capitalizing on Johnny Hicks, Bandits netminder playing the puck behind the net. Rowland would find the wide-open net and give the Oilers a 2-0 lead 18:01 into the first. Brooks took multiple penalties in the first frame with the Oilers not taking any.

In the second period, Spak gave the Oilers a three-goal lead on the road and claimed his second game-winning goal in just five post-season games this year.

Bandits would solve Green 16:17 into the second frame. They scored again over a minute and a half later with Nathan Free and Hunter Wallace both getting their second goals of the series, cutting the Oilers lead to just one.

The Green and Gold wouldn't let the two late goals deflate their momentum, coming up big in the third period. Sam Huck would split the Bandits defencemen getting a breakaway and going top corner 2:53 seconds into the period. Jagger Tapper would get the primary assist with his team-leading seventh point in this year's BCHL playoffs.

Huxley put the game out of reach seven and a half minutes later getting his second goal of the game.

Tempers would flare shortly after Huxley making it 5-2 with Bandits getting multiple game misconducts, one coming from the Bandits coach and an Ethan Beyer cross-check. Ethan O'Halloran stood up for the Oilers in the chaos dropping with mitts with Free on the Bandits.

Oilers have now won two of the three games they have played on the road so far in the BCHL playoffs. With two wins already on home ice against the Spruce Grove Saints, The Green and Gold will look to continue the trend of home wins and try and go back to Brooks with a 3-1 series lead.

The Green and Gold will be at home playing on Centennial Arena home ice in Okotoks on Tuesday (April 23) and Wednesday (April 24), with both games starting at 7:00 pm.
