The house fire that kept fire crews busy in Nanton Monday, May 6 is now out.

Fire Chief Mike Matchett says they were able to get to it right away.

"Called out this morning for a structure fire. Obviously when we arrived on scene it was fully involved. We provided the initial attack through the front door and we were able to extinguish the fire."

He says luckily no one was hurt as the family was at home at the time and got out safely with all their pets.

Matchett says everyone got out safely.

"All the residents got out and all the animals got out. So that was good."

He says the family is staying with relatives in Nanton.

Matchett says they're still trying to figure out what caused the fire to the home on 19th Street and 23rd Avenue.

So far there's no damage estimate.
