The Okotoks Oilers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are back at the Okotoks Centennial Arena at 7:00 tonight, as they take on the Blackfalds Bulldogs.

With the new playoff format for the five teams (Blackfalds, Brooks, Okotoks, Spruce Grove and Sherwood Park), at the end of the year, the combination of games played this season in both in AJHL and BCHL will make up the final standings. Okotoks finds themselves in a tie with the Bulldogs headed into tonight's game. Both teams have a combined 72 points.

Okotoks will look to continue their winning ways after the Oilers scored three unanswered goals on Spruce Grove, with help from Jagger Tapper who had three points on all three goals, including the game-tying goal with less than two minutes in the game. Tapper finished the night with a total of four points (2 goals and 2 assists). Forward Owen MacNeil had the game-winner in overtime.

After tonight's game the "Green and Gold" will face the Bulldogs another three times, two in March and one in April. Each game will be crucial as both teams look to get the coveted third spot in this year's playoffs. Finishing in third place cements a spot in the playoffs and gives either team a bye in the second round.

Captain Dean Spak seeks to lead his team to victory with his team-leading 10 points in seven games since the Oilers left the AJHL and joined the BCHL.

Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Centennial Arena.

And then the Oilers hop on the bus Saturday night and head to Brooks to take on the Bandits. Puck drop's at 7 o'clock and you can listen to the play-by-play on the Eagle 100.9 or stream it at Okotoks Online.
