The Okotoks Oilers closed the gap to three points on the AJHL South Division leading Brooks Bandits with a 4-3 win on the road in Brooks Wednesday night.

Ty Clay scored a pair for the Oilers, while Rhett Gardner got the winner just over seven minutes into the third period.

Spencer Kryczka opened the scoring for the Oilers in the first period.

It's the second straight win for the Oilers and their second in a row over Brooks this season.

The Oilers return home for a pair of games Friday and Saturday against Canmore and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Saturday's game against the Oil Barons should be a good one as Fort Mac is till unbeaten in regulation time this season as they've racked up an impressive 17-0-and-1 record.

The Oilers however, have a knack for elevating their game and knocking off those top teams.
