An Okotoks business has been broken into for the second time in just over a month.

At around 1:15 a.m. on Monday morning, three people smashed through the front door of Big Rock Crystals, Minerals & Fossils and entered the store.

In the span of about three minutes, they made off with an estimated $20,000 worth of property.

The store was previously broken into on April 20 under a similar set of circumstances.

Luke, one of the store's owners, believes it was not only the same group of people from the first break-in but also the same group who stole over $30,000 worth o equipment from a Calgary store earlier this month.

"It looks like the same people but it looks like they brought a friend this time... They ransacked the store. There were three of them running around in different directions picking up different products. We believe it's the same people who hit The Camera Store in Calgary as well. Seems to me like it's a little syndicate or organization."

He's frustrated not only at having been broken into twice but of the lack of footage from outside the business.

"It's very frustrating that the downtown doesn't have any kind of camera system or anything for security purposes. Now we're looking at spending a lot of money to further secure the store. It gets to the point where you're like 'How much have you got to throw at it before you call it quits?'"

The store's security cameras recorded several images of the thieves, but he's hoping someone may be able to come forward with security or dashcam footage in order to identify a vehicle.

"Anything from anybody would be helpful. There were a number of cars in the area around that time. I know from our footage, they were still in the store and a car drove by. Maybe they didn't see them, maybe they were minding their own business, I don't know. If anyone has any information that'd be amazing."

Anyone with information on the incident can contact Okotoks RCMP at (403) 995-6400.
