Due to the heavy wet dump of snow overnight there are several power outages across the Foothills.
According to Fortis Alberta's outages map crews are working on restoring power this afternoon.
Hundreds of customers have been affected and there are thousands affected in Calgary too.
However, power is returning this afternoon with Fortis reporting that most areas, especially in the Diamond Valley and Millarville regions, are being restored.
Timelines range from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Several schools were also closed today due to the driving conditions and in some cases the power was knocked out.
