Thanks to the High River Chamber of Commerce there will be an all-candidate forum for the Livingstone-Macleod constituency.

It's scheduled for Tuesday May 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Highwood Centre.

All five candidates in the riding have been invited but not all have been able to confirm as of yet.

The five candidates are:

  • *Chelsae Petrovic (United Conservative Party)
  • *Kevin Van Tighem (Alberta New Democratic Party)
  • *Kevin Todd (Alberta Party)
  • Dylin Hauser (Alberta Liberal Party)
  • Corrie Toon (Alberta Independence Party/The Independence Party)

*Have confirmed they will attend.

High River Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Szabon-Smith says in order to avoid any conflict or perceived conflict they're bringing in an outsider to moderate the two-hour event.

"It's one of our Alberta Chamber of Commerce executives so, I'm really excited that we have someone that is outside of our riding and is just able to be that moderator. Plus, there is no personal connection to any of our candidates."

There will be a change to this upcoming forum as far as taking questions from the audience.

In the past there has been a microphone for people to ask their questions, however there's a bit of a change in how questions will be asked of the candidates at this forum.

Leading up to the forum you can simply email your questions into the Chamber, but the deadline is Sunday May 14th and then on the night of the forum Szabon-Smith explains how it will work.

"The night of the forum we will accept questions from the floor but only in written format. So, we will not have a speaker mic for questions, we will just respect the time of our candidates and have the questions brought to our volunteers table and then brought to our moderator for asking the question.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the Highwood Centre with the event getting underway at 7:00 p.m.
