As Martha and the Vandellas sang: "Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the street."

The annual BuskersFest is returning to the streets of Okotoks on Saturday, June 20th, and there will be entertainment for all.

"BuskersFest is actually 'Spring Into Summer Festival Featuring Buskers,' this year," explains the Town of Okotoks Community Events Specialist, Connie Drake. "We have decided to change the naming convention to allow for a little bit more flexibility within the events. So, we have a number of people who are coming and we've got lots of local talent here, we've got some regional talent that will be participating in the event this year."

Drake says there will be about 32 artists performing all over the festival grounds, including on stage at the Olde Town Plaza.

There will also be an Artisan Market onsite with roughly 40 vendors and a business activation area.

Over by the Okotoks Art Gallery, there will also be a kids' zone.

The kids' zone will include face painting and a block party trailer, as well as lawn activities and carnival games.

While there will be food trucks on-site, the Town is also highlighting the restaurants that are already part of downtown Okotoks.

The festival will take place on McRae and North Railway Streets and is free for everyone to attend.

"Road closures will be in effect from Veterans, all the way to Lineham Avenue, down at the art gallery."

While BuskersFest is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., road closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Just like at Light Up Okotoks, the Town will be providing wristbands, so parents can get one for their child that has a parent's phone number on it, so the parents and children can be reunited if they get separated.

Those who forget to bring water won't be out of luck, as the Town's new temporary drinking fountains will be in place for the day.

There is also accessible parking set up behind the Summit West School.
