It's going to be a big weekend for members of the High River Tigers swim club.

They are heading to the Repsol Centre, formerly known as the Talisman centre, to take part in the Pugsley's Plunge.

"This weekend we have an invitational meet, which is where we get our qualifying times," said Terri  Walker, president of the club.

The Tigers are a small club with 38 members, however 25 of them are heading to the event which is estimated to have 1000 swimmers competiting.

"We have some really great swimmers," she added.

"We've had a lot of success in the pool."

Swim Alberta has made changes to how they do times this year, which makes it harder to achieve provincial standings.

"They have made it a little bit more difficult, it is harder to achieve a time now. But these kids work hard in the pool everyday and they work hard when they meet.

They will surprise us, there is no doubt."
