Employees with Tomorrow Project working during the study centre held in Okotoks on January 31

The Tomorrow Project is hoping to beat cancer one survey at a time.

The project is holding temporary study centres in Okotoks Thursday and Friday and is looking for Albertans to come forward and take part in the multi year study to find a connection between cancer and ones lifestyle choices.

"We're basically tracking people to see who gets cancer and who doesn't so we can compare the two groups once we're done all the data collection and go back and compare the data and find out why some got cancer and some didn't," says provincial coordinator Kathleen Murdoch.

The project is looking for 50,000 Albertans who are between the age of 35 and 69 to take part in the study, which involves a health assessment and a follow-up survey every three to five years.

Okotoks resident Rich Gotthard took part in the project for the first time this year and says it seems like a great way to help out future generations.

"Cancer is one disease that does need to be beat and we have all been affected by it and anything that I can do to help beat it is a good thing," he says.
