With the dreary weather and threat of flooding in the foothills, it's not surprising organizers of some local events are making some last minute adjustments for outdoor events.

The Set to Golf -- Golfing to End Cancer Charity event is going ahead with the dinner and silent auction portion of the event.

However, hitting little white balls in the pouring rain appears to appeal to no one.

As such, the golfing portion has been cancelled.

Unfortunately, given the unpredictable weather, a number of events for the coming weekend have had to be cancelled.

The Okotoks river valley clean up scheduled for tomorrow is a no go.

The fundraising dinner for Cole Irvine planned for Saturday at the Millarville Race Track has also been cancelled.

As well, today's Harmony Group Soup luncheon at the United Church in Okotoks has been cancelled.

And finally, the Blackie Spring Fling planned for Saturday, June 4th has been cancelled.

But there is some good news, the Village of Arrowwood is going ahead with their Garage Sale day planned throughout the town all day tomorrow.

Check out tables set up in the arena and organizers are certain, some hardy souls are still planning on setting out treasures for sale in garages around town.

It's also a go for the Family Dance at the Flare and Derrick in Turner Valley for Saturday night.

And more good news, dogs apparently don't mind the rain. So the Lion's Walk planned for Sunday will go ahead.

Given that the route they had planned to take is currently under water, they will be switching to a new location.
