Winter Walk Day is once again returning to Alberta this year, where you are encouraged to bundle up and head outside for a walk.

On February 7th, the town of High River is hosting a Winter Walk Day event, where people can join others in getting out of the house for some winter activity.

The Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex will have their walking track available as early as 6 a.m. for those who wish to walk indoors.

But, if you prefer to bundle up and walk around town, you are still able to participate.

All you have to do is keep track of either your steps, minutes walked, or kilometres and let the staff know at the front desk of the Recreation Complex.

High River is hoping to track the best Winter Walkers in the province.

Winter Walk Day is a way of encouraging people to remain active throughout the year.

Over 100,000 Albertans participated in Winter Walk Day in previous years.

For more information on how to participate, visit the Town of High River website.
