Amateur Football in Alberta has taken it's first step towards getting back onto the field.

Football Alberta says community based teams, like the Foothills Eagles, are allowed to gather and start practicing if they so choose, as early as Friday, June 12.

However, they'd have to follow health and safety guidelines, laid out by the Province and enforced by Football Alberta.

They include monitoring and heightened sanitation practices.

No more than 50 people would be allowed to gather, with play limited to scrimmages or mini-games, but no league games or inter-league play.

High school football remains sidelined however, as they fall under the jurisdiction of the Alberta School's Athletic Association and must be cleared by them, their individual school boards, superintendents and principals before being allowed back on the field.
