The Municipal District of Foothills wants feedback from residents about secondary suites.

MD Planner Coreena Carr says they held three open houses about the issue and are accepting online feedback until April 15th.

"The majority of the comments seem to be people looking forward to doing aging in place," said Carr. "So they can stay on their properties and keep their families together."

Carr says the MD has seen an increase in requests for secondary suites and second buildings like garden homes for aging parents over the last two years.
