Picnic With A Purpose is back for another year in High River.

Ally Cramm with Rowan House hopes everybody gets a chance to take it in.

"It's going to be so much fun because not only is it an opportunity to get to know the services that are available in the community it's a free family picnic event so there are carnival games, each of the organizations have some activities at their booths, we have face painting, a petting zoo all sorts of fun things," she says.

Groups from Protective Services to service agencies and cultural organizations will be taking part.

"There's a toonie bar-b-que or you can bring your lunch and it's otherwise completely free so we hope that you'll come out and join us because it really is just a great opportunity for the whole community to come together."

Thousands of people took in the inaugural event last year.

It goes Sunday June 11h from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. rain or shine at George Lane Park.
