Foothills waterskier Megan Pelkey is one of the 2022 Female Junior Water Ski Athletes of the Year.
She’s one of three athletes given the title by Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada WSWC).
The organization selected Pelkey as well as Nellie Allard and Hannah Stopnicki, both from Quebec, with all three having taken home gold medals at the 2022 U17 World Water Ski Championships.
Pelkey’s accolades include wins in the U17 girls' slalom, trick, and overall, at the Jr. Canadian Open as well as overall titles at the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation Pan American Championships in November and the IWWF U17 World Waterski Championships in January.
Most recently, she took the title at the 2023 Jr. Masters in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
Fellow Albertan Ryan Dodd was named the 2022 WSWC Male Water Ski Athlete of the Year.
