The Okotoks Dawgs responded with a convincing victory over the Lethbridge Bulls today (June 9), steamrolling their opposition 12-4.

The Dawgs would score in six different innings they batted in and were dialed to get revenge on the Bulls who handed Okotoks their first loss of the season on Friday.

Zane Morrison got the win as he started on the mound for the Dawgs, pitching in four innings and getting two strikeouts. 

Local talent Brody Forno closed the game pitching in the top of the ninth, punching out two Bulls players with strikeouts.

The first inning would go scoreless, in the top of the second the Bulls got on the board first but the Dawgs answered in the bottom of the inning with four runs.

Kadyn Williams would get the first two RBIs for Okotoks when he hit a single to left field scoring both Nash Crowell and Logan Grant in for runs. With bases loaded Connor Crowson would earn a walk getting Lou Anderson across home plate.

Tucker Zdunich was the next at-bat, Williams would score the last run of the inning when a wild pitch was thrown at Zdunich and Williams took the opportunity to get across home plate. 4-1 was the score in favour of the Dawgs after two innings.

The Dawgs would then score a single run in all of the next three innings with the Bulls only getting one in that time span.

Brendan Luther got his first of four RBIs on the night when he hit a single to left field scoring Jacob Wrubleski in for a run in the bottom of the third. Anderson picked up an RBI when the Dawgs had the bases loaded again and got the walk to first, scoring Zdunich in for a run at the bottom of the fourth.

Bulls added a run in the top of the fifth but the Dawgs would answer back at the bottom of the inning. Luther would advance to second on a wild pitch. Ricky Sanchez would then hit a single to right field getting Luther across the home plate.

The Bulls answered at the top of the sixth and were finally able to stop the consistent runs coming from the Dawgs. However, it was short-lived as the Dawgs got three runs in the bottom of the seventh. 

Zdunich hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh with Luther and Sanchez already on base giving the Dawgs a 10-3 lead.

The eighth would see the Bulls' last run of the evening and the Dawgs getting two more runs across home plate. 

When Luther was up to bat in the eighth, multiple wild pitches would score Wrubleski in for a run and advance Williams to third base. Luther then hit a single to centre field getting Williams in for the final run for the Dawgs in today's game.

Okotoks will have tomorrow off, but will then have games for the next six days. They will play the Prospects on Tuesday at the John Fry Sports Park in Edmonton, with the first pitch at 7:05.
