The Okotoks Dawgs are back at it Thursday, May 30, as they're in Edmonton to take on the Prospects.

They won their opener Tuesday, May 28, beating the Bombers 14-5 in Brooks.

The Dawgs play their home opener Friday, May 31, in front of what is an already sold out Seaman Stadium and Dawgs General Manger, Tyler Hollick, says he's expecting some goose bumps from the newer players for that one.

"I think there's going to be a little bit of nerves on Friday. I think they're going to be a little high strung, but I think once they get through the first at bat, the first couple of innings, I think they'll settle down and just play baseball."

Hollick says it's been 10 years since the Dawgs last won the league title and he says expectations are particularly high this year, but he feels they have the team and the attitude to get the job done.

"If we go out and play hard every day. That whether your playing in front of 4,000 people on opening night, whether your playing in the middle of July or you're in the championship game, winner take all, nothing changes with the way we're going to go about our business."

Friday's game is a 7:05 p.m. start.
