Another big arm will be joining the Okotoks Dawgs this season, as the team has signed Charlie Dant out of Dayton University.

The pitcher is currently in his sophomore season with the Dayton University Flyers, playing in a Division I program.

Dant's freshman year saw him appear in 16 games, starting 10 of those, and finishing with two wins and 46 strikeouts in 66.2 innings.

This year, he's worked his way to the top of the Flyers' rotation, going 4-4 in 10 starts, including one complete game and 35 strikeouts in 64 innings of work.

The Dawgs, who had the WMBL's top offence last summer, are now looking to shore up their pitching rotation, and hope Dant's college success will translate to the WMBL.

The Dawgs' season is fast approaching, they'll open on June 1st on the road against the Medicine Hat Mavericks, who they'll also play in their own home opener on June 5th.
