The Foothills Composite Falcons finally found themselves on the winning side of things after a come from behind 17-14 victory over Hunting Hills last Friday.

After taking a 7-0 deficit into the half and then giving up an opening drive touchdown to the Lighting in the 3rd quarter there was a change in attitude on the Falcon bench.

Head Coach Darren Olson says his team just had to get into a new groove to get back into the game.

"Let the coaches coach and the players play and after that when we were down 14-0 you could feel the guys momentum shift and confidence was coming back a bit and some of our senior guys made some big plays offensively and defensively and that turned the tide for us," he says.

Olson says his defence gave his team a chance late.

"Defensively our guys played really well after we gave up that score at the start of the 3rd quarter but we ended up with two interceptions and three fumble recoveries so those kind of big plays make a difference in the game as well."

The Falcons are on their bye-week as they head into Big Rock Football Conference action next week and Olson says as much as he'd like to be playing this week to feed of of their win, they'll take the time off to get healthier.

"We've got a couple guys on crutches so that will help us get some of our injured players back and give our guys a little bit of a break going into the weekend."

The Comp will battle Highwood at Mustangs Field September 30.
