One of High River’s biggest annual traditions is back for another round this weekend.

The Guy Weadick Rodeo is set to take over the High River Ag Society grounds Friday and Saturday night.

Office and Events Coordinator with the Ag Society Liz Elwood said preparations have been moving well.

“We're pretty busy now and ramping up what's going to be an absolutely brilliant weekend,” she said. “Tickets are selling well. So, people need to get those tickets in.”

The rodeo starts at 6:30 Friday and Saturday night with the gates opening at 5 p.m.

Aside from seeing the best cowboys and cowgirls in action, beer gardens and food trucks will welcome spectators throughout the weekend and a Cabaret featuring some homegrown talent.

“The Friday night we've got Brandon Lorenzo joining, then on the Saturday night, Greg Vardy Band, the Titan Productions,” said Elwood.

The Ag Society is also getting ready for The Battle of The Foothills featuring some of the best chuckwagon racers on the planet. That runs from July 25th – 28th.

Tickets for the rodeo and chuckwagon races can be purchased at tickets.highriverag.com.
