The Lomond Lakers will go gunning for their first win of the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League season Friday, October 11, when they come to High River to face the winless Flyers.

Lakers Coach, Greg Honess, says both teams have been competitive so far, but just haven't been able to put it all together yet.

"From what I've heard about High River I think they've been working hard and giving teams a good run. We think we've been doing the same. You know, we think we're getting some things squared away. We're looking forward to this game as well. Hoping for a good game, a good strong game, from our guys anyway."

Honess admits their struggling early in the season, mainly because they have to cast a wider recruiting net.

"We can't all be Okotoks and draw all the top guys and guys from top junior teams. We've got a different group to draw from so I mean, we're definitely developing some guys. We're not getting the top, top guys like some teams are getting."

The Lakers are home to Stettler Saturday, October 12.
