The Okotoks Oilers brought in a handful of local kids for a look-see as their training camp kicks off for another year. High River's Corbin Knight, and Chris Dzuinski from the Okotoks Ice lacrosse squad are the first two.
Oilers Coach Dan MacDonald says Dzuinski's lacrosse skills should transfer nicely to the Oilers. He says there's a real transfer between the two sports and since Dzuinski had such great hands leading the Ice in scoring MacDonald expects him to do well the Oilers as well. Joining Dzuinski and Knight are forwards Cody Fehr from Vulcan, Brandon Hoogenboom the Nanton product who starred with the UFA "AAA" midget bisons and brody Mialuk an 18 year old defenceman from Okotoks. The Oilers play their "Green and Gold" game Sunday afternoon at the Centennial Arena. They open the pre-season Tuesday night at home to the Calgary Royals.
