A section of Highway 1 heading into Kananaskis is closed following a multi-vehicle collision.
Cochrane RCMP are advising that the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway at Highway 40 near the Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino have been closed, with traffic at a standstill.
The hold-up is expected to last some time, as several vehicles will need to be removed from the road.

A band of heavy snowfall in the region is likely a contributing factor, which coincided with the arrival of a cold front that brought a rapid dip in temperature.
RCMP advise staying off the roads in the area until conditions improve.
