The first full day of summer for the Foothills could bring some thunder and lightning to the area.
Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a portion of Southern Alberta including Okotoks, High River and surrounding areas.
Other communities under the watch include Claresholm, Nanton, Fort McLeod, Lethbridge, Taber, and Calgary.
Meteorologists say that thunderstorms could develop this afternoon, bringing the possibility of strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
