The Calgary Stampeders made history by picking up their 700th franchise win after defeating Bo Levi Mitchell and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 32-24 tonight (June 7).

The season opener at McMahon Stadium would see Mitchell throw for a touchdown and an interception in his return to Calgary after leaving for the Ticats in 2023.

Jake Maier made the start for the Stamps at quarterback making 21 of 26 throws. Maier scored two touchdowns on the night and had help from Rene Paredes who made six of six field goals, with his longest coming from 52 yards away.

Dedrick Mills led the Stamps in rushing with 87 yards in the win.

Stampeders will be back on the gridiron next Saturday (June 15) when they visit the Lions at BC Place.
