Sunshine and music are forecasted for Saturday

Not only is this the first weekend of summer, but the streets of Okotoks will be crowded with buskers.

The annual BuskersFest is returning this Saturday, June 22nd, and according to Justin Shelley, a Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Chage Canada, says to expect pleasant weather.

"It's actually going to be, probably, one of the warmer days we've had all year so far," Shelley explains. "We have an upper ridge of high pressure moving into the region that's going to pump those temperatures up into the mid 20's."

The day will begin with predominately sunny skies, with a few clouds passing overhead in the afternoon.

Showers aren't expected in Okotoks for the BuskersFest, and the wind should be relatively minimal.

"It is looking like a very nice June day in the region."

Shelley says the expected high for the day is 25 degrees, and says that if it does reach that temperature, that will be one of the few days so far this year that it has gotten that warm.

In order to avoid getting dehydrated or a bout of heat stroke, Shelley advised people to dress for the weather, drink plenty of water, and find air-conditioned rooms to cool off in if the heat is becoming too much.

"Saturday is actually a pretty good day for the event."
