The High River Tennis Club has announced they will be restarting just in time for June.

June 1st marks the first day the courts will be opened to their members with some new regulations to help ensure social distancing.

Matches will be held to Singles only with an expectation for household doubles.

Treasurer of the High River Tennis Club, M.J. Getkate says they normally offer lots of programs throughout the summer however this year won't be able to do that.

"For this season all we are offering is the membership so you would have a key and access but unfortunately we are unable to have access to our clubhouse or any of the programming so I would recommend getting yourself a racket and some running shoes and getting out there and trying it."

Getkate says the sport is already distance friendly however to ensure the safety of everyone they are sticking to singles only for the time being.

"With all the strict protocol, of course, social distancing is a must which is already kind of a natural in tennis already, to start off we are just offering singles tennis or doubles with people of the same household."

The club's schedule is very free-reign, Getkate says as long as you have a key and the court is free you can play whenever you'd like.

"We have nothing formal organized, with a key and a membership you can access the courts at any time, as long as there is a court available you are free to play."
