Canada's top U-20 rugby players are heading to Ottawa to take on team USA in two games in the Can-Am series and a player from the Foothills is going with them.

Black Diamond's Harley Tucker, who plays lock and flanker, has made the team.

This isn't her first team Canada experience, last year she played on the U-18 team that went to England and she's looking forward to this year's challenge.

"It is kind-of short notice cause we just found out this week and I am leaving a week tomorrow," said Tucker.

She added it was tough playing in England last year.

"England was a lot of fun but it was really hard with jet-lag and everything to get use to it."

Tucker is also plays for the Axewomen at Acadia University where she has a scholarship.

And she has some big plans for the future.

"I am always working to keep getting better and better, and make the next step. My goal is to play in the world cup, eventually, it might not happen next time, but maybe in four years."

Tucker says she has had some great support for her rugby passion along the way.

"I've had some really good coaches guiding me throughout high school and club season. I think that was a big part of it, if they didn't present me with the opportunities to take the next step, I probably wouldn't have thought I could."

"It takes a lot of support from your family and your community and a lot of determination."

Tucker also has to raise some funds to help pay for the trip, she is selling steaks.
