A big weekend for a couple of Oilfields Curling Club teams at the U-18 Men's Southern Alberta Playdowns in Lethbridge.

There's a little bit of pressure on the Jacob Libbus and Jared Palanuik rinks to repeat as the winners and move on to Provincials in March in Leduc.

Coach Mike Libbus says the boys are ready.

"Both teams have played well all year. The Palanuik team's been ranked in the top 5 in the province all year in the U-21 Division, and the Libbus team has done really well and picked it up recently. Both teams are pretty confident going in and we're expecting to take the two spots."

Michael Steele out of Okotoks will try his luck, as well Claresholm's Kateri Blair on the ladies side.
